Valentines at Home
Inspiration for spending your valentines day at home
For some people, valentine's day means going on a romantic stroll on the beach, visiting your favourite restaurant or catching a movie together. For others staying home and spending quality time is the way to go. For those who like to stay in, here's some inspiration to make your valentines a little more special without spending too much time or money.
1. Classic breakfast in bed
It doesn't matter if you are 6 or 60, waking to the smell of pancakes or bacon is one of the best feelings in the world. If your partner is conscious about weight, why not a healthy smoothie or oats?
2. Bed of roses or a bouquet
Roses might be cliche but no girl ever complained about receiving too many roses. One way to change things up a little is by decorating your bed with rose petals and creating a romatic ambiance with candles.
3. Add some sparkle
Women are attracted to things that sparkle and those who aren't ready for the commitment or can't afford a ring, fairy lights are the way to go. Not only does it create a warm romantic ambience, it's affordable and can be found readily at Daiso.
4. Appeal to her sweet tooth
Getting her chocolates or macaroons is a great gift but it's even better if you can make it yourself! Making macaroons isn't easy so perhaps start with something simple like chocolate chip cookies? Here is one of our favourite recipes! http://allrecipes.com/recipe/10813/best-chocolate-chip-cookies/
Most importantly, don't get caught up in all the Valentine hype. Creating a romantic atmosphere is important and your significant other will appreciate it but if you are flustered the whole night making sure everything is perfect, you may lose your opportunity for quality time and ultimately defeat the purpose of a romantic staying in. So, have fun, enjoy yourself and focus on quality time together over everything else. Happy Valentines!
